Web Agent Lab
Experiments with web-oriented agents built on OpenClaw — targeted browsing, content extraction, and structured data gathering from live web environments.
Role
The Web Agent Lab documents experiments with agents that interact directly with live web environments. These agents use the OpenClaw runtime to navigate pages, extract structured content, and produce typed artifact outputs from web-sourced material.
Status: In progress
What these agents do
Web agents in this lab perform targeted, goal-directed browsing within a scoped mission. A typical mission might involve:
- Navigating to a set of target pages
- Extracting structured data (product information, pricing, listings, documentation)
- Following links within a defined scope
- Producing a structured artifact from the gathered material
The agent does not perform general-purpose crawling. Each run is bounded by a mission objective and a step budget defined in the OpenClaw mission definition.
Relationship to OpenClaw
Web agents are the primary use case that shaped the OpenClaw browser/web environment abstraction. The browser session, structured action model, and observation-to-memory loop were designed with this class of agent in mind.
